The UT TrustLab can serve as a defensive and offensive tool to remain ahead of adversarial campaigns of disinformation and seek trusted sources by delivering:

  • Better Data. Less Disinformation: Vetting and filtering online social media data sources and data based on a number of learned parameters will ensure the highest quality information.
  • Faster Awareness. Better Response: Awareness is curative. People, organizations, and society will respond appropriately and ethically if given the right information at the right time.

Security is rapidly gaining importance in an ever-growing digital world with expanding heterogeneous systems, an explosion of data, and increasingly motivated and sophisticated adversaries. The asymmetric nature of security adds to this challenge. The defender must protect all assets, yet the attacker need only find one vulnerability.

Information is power. Disinformation is a weapon. The UT research team is committed to pushing the boundaries of technology to empower every person and every organization with the power of quality information and tools to empower everyone with the best information and guard against the weapon of disinformation.

The UT TrustLab will empower users and organizations to increase awareness and actionable insights to be more agile than their adversaries when defending their enterprises. The UT TrustLab is learning and building an understanding of the parameters of trusted information and sources, building a “DNA of Trust.” Consequently, disinformation and untrusted sources will stand out like a ‘sore thumb’ to the UT Trust Filter despite the noisy, wild social media environment.

Protecting information offers pervasive security for every type of person, organization or system. Trusted security relies on trusted information and trusted sources. The UT TrustLab will usher in a time when disinformation and its sources are so easy to spot that people are able to rebuild a sense of social trust. Importantly, the UT Trust Filter is delivering ….
